EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Emergency contact information must be maintained on each student’s registration card. If the information changes throughout the school year, parents should notify the office immediately. Students will not be released from school to persons other than those indicated on the student’s registration card.

EMERGENCY/FIRE/WEATHER/DISASTER/LOCKDOWN DRILLS

One's life may depend upon the ability to follow the instructions and procedures in case of fire, tornadoes or other disasters. Escape plans are taught and reviewed with students by their teachers. Drills will be held periodically to assure maximum protection during emergency situations. Procedures for evacuating are posted in each room, hallway, and offices within the building. It is your responsibility to know the procedures to follow in case of emergency.

EVALUATION POLICY

Teachers are responsible for determining the basis of evaluation in their subject areas. Tests are administered as one means of determining student progress. Since teachers administer small, regularly spaced tests throughout the year, students should maintain a consistent effort all year. They should remember that effort counts a great deal in promotion decisions and that performance on assignments is just as important as performance on tests. The following scale is to be used to compute classroom grades.

  • Classroom Assessments: 65% (This is to include major classroom tests, reports, and projects.)
  • Classroom Assignments: 25-35% (This is to include short quizzes, daily grades, classroom work.)
  • Homework Assignments: 0-5% (Homework may not exceed 5%)

FEES

Elective courses and physical education classes require specific fees. Specific fee amounts will be submitted to students by individual course teachers. Fees may be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or money order.

FIELD TRIPS

Field trips are designed to supplement different aspects of the classroom curriculum. Students will be asked to submit a signed permission slip to the supervising teacher in accordance to the guidelines that are pre-established by the teacher and school. Small fees may be required for some field trips to off-set the trip costs.
